[G.E.F #5] Safe and Convenient Integration between Services, Firma Connect
Hello. This is FIRMACHAIN.
Today’s G.E.F is on ‘Firma Connect’.
Currently FIRMACHAIN is updating the Firma Station to 2.0.
One of the upgraded features include Firma Connect, which we will take a more detailed look into in this posting.
If you are logged into the Firma Station mobile application, Firma Connect allows you to integrate the FIRMACHAIN Wallet without having to use your mnemonic or private key. After the initial integration, you can conveniently use the service by generating a transaction through scanning the QR code.
Not only is it convenient to use Firma Connect to log into the wallet but it also makes matters more convenient when accessing DApps and is expected to enhance interoperability.
Firma Connect also mitigates the risk of hacking and other outside attacks when users access their wallet from a public WiFi network environment such as cafes or airports.
A transaction is generated on Firma Connect by scanning the QR code and therefore is expected to be both secure and easy to use.
In other words, Firma Connect securely and conveniently integrates FIRMACHAIN DApps and Firma Station by simply scanning a QR code on the Firma Station mobile application.
API for the Firma Connect will also be supported by the FrimaChain team to enhance its usability.

In the following we will explain how ‘Firma Connect’, connects.
▶ Integrate Firma Station PC Web using Firma Connect.
Step 1. From the Firma Station PC web, choose Integrate with Firma Connect and a QR code will be displayed in a separate pop-up.
Step 2. Scan the QR code using your mobile Firma Station. Think of it as one of the convenient login features applied on other services.
Step 3. Connect your wallet (one time) and Sign.
Step 4. Once the connection is complete, the mobile app will show a Sign Success window while the PC web will show a ‘Successfully connected to wallet’ message.
Once you’ve completed this initial step, you can now login to Firma Station using a QR code scan instead of having to type in your password every single time you login.
We will take a look at how FCTs are transferred as an example.
▶ Send FCTs using Firma Connect
Step 1. Entere the Send information on the PC web and click on Next to get the QR code.
Step 2. Scan the QR code on your mobile Firma Station and confirm the Send transaction.
Step 3. Confirm the Send transaction and Sign the transaction. During the transaction you will see the window that displays the transaction in process. The average transaction clearing time takes between 6 to 7 seconds.
Step 4. Once the Send transaction is complete you will be transferred to a new window and your mobile app and PC web will show the completed transaction.
Firma Connect can also be conveniently used to connect with DApps.
▶ How to use Firma Connect on DApps
Firma Connect allows a ubiquitous login experience without having to worry about typing in any sensitive personal information if you have a wallet downloaded onto your mobile device.
For instance, if a company were to host a marketing event on its web page, the normal process would be to access the web page and input personal information and consent to the use of such information before being able to participate in the promotional marketing event.
If you use Firma Connect, instead of putting in your personal information and consenting to its use, you can simply access the event page (DApp), login (connect wallet) and participate in the event (generate transaction). All you’d need is a mobile device that has your wallet downloaded and logged in.
The following is a NFT event that we showed in the UDC 2022 last year and garnered a lot of attention and praise from the participants.
The critical segue that made the whole event seamless was ‘Firma Connect’.
We will continue to develop FIRMACHAIN into a more useful blockchain project through this Firma Station 2.0 upgrade.
