Rough Draft 1.4 One-Click Medium Exporting
(Part 2)
We were super excited a couple months ago when we got an email from Medium, about how we could make publishing rough drafts to their platform even easier. Thanks to their support sending your draft to Medium to finish and publish now takes a single click!
We started this post using the new Medium export button!
Before getting into the simple setup process, we’d love to share one cool part of publishing to Medium from Rough Draft, specifically placeholders.
We’re big Medium writers and love how they treat “TK.” That’s why when you export to Medium, Rough Draft appends all of your placeholders with a TK. This helps your placeholders take advantage of how Medium handles “TK,” which makes them stand out and trigger a warning if you haven’t replaced them when you go to publish.
Without further ado, onto the how to 😉
How to connect Rough Draft to Medium:
Inside a draft go to Export and click More Export Options…
Click on Medium and you’ll be prompted for an API token…
Medium API or integration tokens can be found at the bottom of your settings page 👈(use that link and then scroll down).
Generate your token and then copy it.
To paste it in you’ll need to right-click and select paste. It’s a little rough… Sorry we’re working on it.
From there you’ll be ready to start sending your drafts direct to Medium!
