Some of you may have noticed the hiccups in the submissions process, including long delays in having pieces reviewed and not seeing them on the pub page once I’ve published. Those issues stem from Medium’s latest updates.

Fortunately, Medium has resolved most issues, and I had a daily dialogue with them for about a week, during which they were doing their best.

Currently, as editors, our biggest snafu is seeing our submissions page blank, with a note saying the publication has no current submissions. Disappointed, we close the portal, but then, upon refreshing, there they are, drafts sent in hours, sometimes, days ago.

It’s a sinking feeling to see writers’ drafts sitting there with a time stamp so far behind. That situation occurs in each of the publications I edit for and seems to affect each editor the same.

However, every cloud has a silver lining, and this one is the update that improves the options on the navigation bar. With our archive now posted on the bar, all FLF stories are more accessible. That helps me as well as you. In my case, the feature allows easier scouring in my search for feature stories!!
