The Oculus

In that single moment of decision, she felt the weight of the universe. The partition in front of her shimmered. The draw to step through pulled at her chest as though her ribs were of iron and the oscillating silver-black sheet, a magnet. Once she entered the Oculus, Dr. Theresa Alcott knew she would never return.

And yet, she knew she had to go. Everything that happened since that fateful day was her fault. Her final analysis cast the die to proceed. Now…
