The map had promised treasure, but all she’d found was a grave. Cordelia squatted down to search around the headstone. There was nothing. Nothing but grass and dead leaves. Kneeling down in the dirt Cordelia went over her options. Her friends were probably two sheets to the wind at the Halloween party having the time of their lives. She could go and meet back up with them, but could she handle the harassment over going on this stupid scavenger hunt?

Someone cleared their throat behind her and Cordelia startled so bad she fell over.

“You know, most people visit the cemetery to visit departed loved ones. I’m a bit curious as to why there’s a young girl visiting an empty grave.”

“Someone might think you’re up to no good, girlie. Best if you were moving along now.”

Cordelia watched in silence as the man shuffled away, a foggy mist swirling around his ankles. A shiver raced through her body. She stood up and brushed herself off. That party was sounding better than ever. Cordelia reread the coordinates found on the last clue and double checked her map. She was definitely in the correct place…
