We are extremely excited to announce our investment in Noor Medical www.noor-med.com, a MedTech company established in Freiburg — you might recognize the startup as one of the three winning teams from our Business Insider Contest and we are happy that our partnership now continues.
About Noor Medical …
Noor Medical is dedicated to provide innovative medical equipment to sterilize medical instruments, aiming to improve the provision of safe surgery in rural and off-grid medical clinics. Over 1.5 billion people in the world lack access to medical clinics with capable surgical instrument sterilization equipment, resulting in the unfortunate statistic that 1 out of 3 patients in the developing world suffer from postoperative infections. Unsafe surgery results in approximately 17 million deaths annually. Noor Medical works with a variety of partners to rectify these conditions.

Our funds will be used to support the commercialization in Eastern Africa, where the Freiburger startup wants to provide healthcare facilities with its robust and effective medical instrument sterilization solution.
Why we invested …
Although the company was only established in April 2019, the startup already achieved some impressive milestones: In September 2018, the team presented their innovative solution at the United Nations headquarters in New York City and received support from the Dubai Expo Live group to conduct an user-interface testing program in Uganda, where their Hybriclave device will be utilized by nurses in the field to gain invaluable feedback. We are sure, that this track record will only be the beginning of a great success story.
