According to Clutch report 9 in 10 small businesses in the U.S. plan to outsource business functions in 2022, up from 80% in 2021. Small businesses plan to outsource in order to save time, grow their company, and work with experts across a range of business functions. More than one-quarter of small businesses (27%) plan to outsource information technology (IT) services in both 2022 and 2021, making it the process small businesses are most likely to outsource.

Startups, small and middle businesses who want to grow fast and take the market fall into a complex story when they need to build a new product or extend the existing solution but they don’t have a development team or enough resources? The blockers here are:

  • The high cost of the local resources. Inflation and trends in IT help to increase these numbers.
  • Tremendous lack of qualified and reliable US-based software engineers.
  • They have to pay HR companies from outside for candidates and interview them and hope that this candidate will be really good in hard skills and, more importantly, soft skills to easily come into their team and be its part.

These blockers can be solved with an outsourcing development team.

This Deloitte report shows that the most valuable reason why you need to outsource your business is the cost. However, flexibility, speed to market, access to tools and processes, and agility are important objectivities too.

You don’t need to think about new employees, taxes and other things. A lot of such companies and teams on the market and you can choose one or more. Your work on the first step is to determine the criteria to select a team. It might be a technological stack or similar projects in the past experience or how they work and what is the process they have. According to it, you can easily find a team with which it will be comfortable for you to work.

But.

We always ask our clients if they have experience in working with outsourcing software development companies and we hear the same responses often. They faced issues like:

  • Outsourcing companies they tried to work with required too much attention and went down the drain. Their product quality was not even close to what was required.
  • Contractors were coming for quick and easy money, while partnership, support, maintenance, and long-run were expected.
  • Often contractors don’t have the knowledge in a subject area and don’t really want to get a deep understanding of the context is required.
  • Communication and cash flow with contractors were always not transparent.

The goal of the First Line Outsourcing team is to help businesses grow up, be cost-efficient, and focused on business goals instead of managing the development. We can take ownership, gather, challenge the requirements, and set up development processes in an agile way to get iterations and finish faster. To avoid unexpected issues and blockers, we prefer to do a technical design based on functional requirements first and then write code.

We use TypeScript with Serverless architecture based on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud, along with Angular and React for web applications and Flutter for mobile applications. This approach helps to reach a goal much faster and be cost-effective. From our point of view, the key to a successful project is a combination of:

How we work — First Line Outsourcing

  • deep business analysis.

From business analysis and technical design to development, quality assurance, and support, our processes are ready to work with companies that want to optimize their workflows and move them to the cloud or create a new product with modern technologies and a trustful partner.
