Flood iQ: Now Available in PDF Form
New format lets you take your Flood iQ risk report anywhere
Flood iQ was designed with our users in mind, as we aimed to make it easy for anyone to learn and understand their flood risk.
Our users have remained at the forefront of our thoughts as we’ve worked to expand and improve Flood iQ. With our latest feature, we offer a new way for users to learn about their flood risks: a customized, downloadable, PDF report.
In this new format, Flood iQ data and projections transcend the online world, right into users’ hands.
You Asked, We Responded
During our user testing, we learned that visitors to FloodiQ.com wanted a way to access all their property’s flood risk information in one place. Users wanted something they could print and keep at home with important documents, or take with them and reference when speaking to their elected officials about sea level rise and flooding. Based on this feedback, we created the customized Flood iQ Flood Risk Report, which pulls all the Flood iQ property data into one, easy to download, PDF report.
PDF Feature Highlights
Map Images — We incorporated images of the map from our live site so users could see where on their property floods could occur, now and in the future. Showing these images side by side helps show exactly how the risk changes over time.
Organization — The PDF is broken into sections based on different flood types. At the beginning of each section, we clearly define and differentiate between flood types to help provide clarity, and provide real world examples of different hurricane categories, which helps ground our projections in reality.
Table of Contents — We added a table of contents to help users find exactly what their looking for — for digital users, this has the added benefit of linking throughout the report.
FAQs — The addition of a FAQ section (based on what users have historically asked and searched for on the site) helps ensure our PDF is easy to understand. We chose to include just the 3 most relevant questions from the Flood iQ site to help keep the PDF as concise as possible.
Flood Facts — In addition to users’ customized risk information, the report incorporates various flood facts. These facts provide additional insights and information about broader flood trends, events, risks, and solutions.
Our customized, Flood iQ flood risk PDF report is the only one of its kind and is offered completely free of charge to users.
As sea levels rise, tides become higher and can cover more of the area around individual properties. Therefore, it becomes increasingly important to know how flooding will affect not only your home, but your surrounding area.
We hope that with this new functionality, homeowners will not only have the portable knowledge that they need to protect their property from flooding, but that they will feel empowered to urge their elected officials to take action.
We will continue to offer more features through the Flood iQ site in the coming months — look out for information on the Highest Annual Tidal Flood and Category 5 hurricanes coming in June! We hope you enjoy our latest version of Flood iQ as much as we do. Check it out at www.FloodiQ.com.
