Having joined FiscalNote in early 2021, I’ve had the opportunity to witness FiscalNote’s tremendous growth and evolution firsthand. In just three years, FiscalNote has made 12 acquisitions, expanding its offerings from U.S,-focused government affairs to now helping global organizations gain insights into political, corporate, and regulatory developments. As the digital marketing manager responsible for overseeing our web properties, it was crucial for me to ensure that our website accurately reflected our global and growing solutions.

With FiscalNote’s remarkable growth comes the challenge of catering to a diverse range of audiences while maintaining a cohesive brand image. To tackle this challenge head-on, my team and I recently launched a much-needed website refresh. Our aim was to better showcase our offerings with a renewed focus on our customers and a simplified, modern design. To do this, we leaned into our brand values.

Customer-Focused

Our refreshed website and our brand are designed to put customers front and center. We want our users to feel like heroes, and to achieve this, we’ve made sure that the graphics and visuals used have a clear meaning without further narration. Thanks to our talented in-house designers, the design choices are simple and easy to understand, echoing our message that FiscalNote’s easy-to-use products simplify anyone’s work in the policy space.

Light & Clear Aesthetic

Our solutions help users cut through the noise and access what they need. Our website’s aesthetic reflects this by being light, bright, and easy to read. The text styles applied are clear and consistent, making it easy for users to navigate and find the information they need. Our website should enlighten our customers with data and insights, empowering them to take action.

Bold

FiscalNote was founded on the bold idea that we could make the world more transparent by empowering organizations with the right information. We’ve kept this bold concept in mind while refreshing our website. Although our primary brand color is dark purple, we’ve used it sparingly to contrast against bright images and light backgrounds. This juxtaposition creates a striking, modern look and feels that aligns with our tech-based identity.

Modern Elements

As a technology provider, it’s crucial that our visuals feel modern. We’ve made sure the graphics, icons, and design elements on our website have a fresh, new look and feel. The design is minimalistic, with consistent elements and minimal variation in text treatments, simplifying the look and feel of the website.

The website refresh project was a huge undertaking that required collaboration and coordination between many teams and stakeholders. It was important to get the details right, so we took the time to review and refine every aspect, from wireframes to design compositions. Ultimately, our collective efforts paid off, and we were able to launch a refreshed website that we’re all proud of. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such a talented and dedicated team and I’m excited to see how these changes will continue to support our users and enable them to make a real impact in their industries.
