Fishcoin presents to the Chefs Manifesto at Stockholm EAT Food Forum

It was an honour to be invited to talk about the Fishcoin project over an amazing dinner with the world leading chefs from the Chefs Manifesto(SDG2AdvocacyHub) at beautiful Torsåker Farm during the Stockholm EAT Food Forum. I have always been impressed with how chefs can influence the consumption of responsible, healthy seafood.

Some beautifully prepared ASC certified sustainably farmed Atlantic salmon kindly provided by Marine Harvest — the ever-present Fishcoin waterbottles in the background!

Big thanks to my friends at Marine Harvest for kindly providing some fantastic salmon for this event. It is always refreshing to be able to explain to chefs some of the finer details around how the incredible process of farming salmon consistently and sustainably delivers quality product across the globe.

Other fish on the menu were MSC certified wild pike perch from Swedish freshwater Lake Hjälmaren, and they were indeed delicious!

Paul Newnham, Coordinator of SDG2 Advocacy Hub, presented the Chefs Manifesto Action Plan and together with Dr Alessandro Demaio (CEO EAT) opened the dinner and introduced the Fishcoin project for myself to expand on how a decentralised ecosystem approach with a unique incentive mechanism underpins the Fishcoin business model thereby allowing for scale and impact beyond what a typical company-centric approach could achieve.

I elaborated on how Eachmile Technologies has partnerships and pilots with companies like Thai Union allowing working demonstrations of the platform and that Eachmile is a seafood trading business using the Fishcoin platform to ignite the ecosystem. It was a great experience and inspirational to be talking with such passionate and influential people from all over the world, and the whole Fishcoin team looks forward to maintaining contact so together we can help our seafood producers to continue to supply us with such great eating experiences for the long term.
