Every year the largest players throughout the seafood industry assemble in Boston for one of the biggest industry events of the year — the Boston Seafood Expo. Producers, processors, buyers, consumer brands, logistics providers, technology and sensor providers, NGOs and even government representatives all show up to promote their respective businesses, and to see what is new in the industry. Other than the Brussels Seafood Expo, which our team will also be attending later this month, Boston is the largest seafood event on the planet. This year Fishcoin team members Shannon McDiarmid, Corey Peet, Sam Bowman and I (Jayson Berryhill) were in Boston promoting Fishcoin, forming partnerships and planning for early pilots of our peer-to-peer demo application that is powered by Fishcoin.

Why were we there?

Because of where we are on our development roadmap, with a demo application shortly on the way and ready for early pilots, the Boston Seafood Expo was all about partnerships so that we can deploy in a wide range of supply chains. We also spent a fair amount of time discussing the white paper with various industry players who are all interested in piloting blockchain in their supply chains, but had not yet considered the critical role of incentives and how blockchain can play a role in providing those incentives. Those with experience in emerging markets were well aware in the potential of using mobile airtime top-ups as part of that incentive, and our takeaway was that Fishcoin is being viewed by the industry as one of the more innovative projects to drive more data into the global seafood ecosystem.

Interested in becoming a Fishcoin partner?

Companies and organizations throughout the seafood industry are signing up almost daily to be rollout partners in the Fishcoin ecosystem. If you would like to know more about joining our community of partners please read through our white paper, and contact our team.
