On May 14th 2018, during blockchain week in NYC, Eachmile are collaborating with Chef Bill Telepan from Oceana Restaurant to host the first Fishcoin Storied Seafood Experience. Eachmile Technologies, The Ocean Foundation, JUN Capital and a coalition of parters committed to the sustainability of our ocean are celebrating a leap forward for sustainable seafood with the upcoming launch of the Fishcoin network, a blockchain based data ecosystem for the seafood industry.

Our guests will learn about Fishcoin, Blockchain, its potential impact on Seafood, the Ocean and local communities. We will share how we gather data, how we establish custody and transfer value across our connected supply chain. Seafood is one of the largest industries and markets on the planet:

Seafood Industry Issues

The evening will include an intimate networking setting along with a storied seafood experience prepared by a renowned chef with fishers on hand to provide the story behind their catch. We will also provide brief demonstrations of how members of seafood supply chains around the world can use Fishcoin to incentivize data capture, and ultimately validate the sustainability and responsibility of the seafood we consume.

Seafood Market Issues

We are blessed to have a diverse group of attendees with whom we will share fishcoin as a blueprint for leveraging blockchain to better achieve sustainable supply chains across-commodities: (a) Sustainable Supply Chain Data. Climate change, pollution and plastics, poverty, migration, inequality, malnutrition, illegal practices, trafficking, violence and extremism are challenges faced across commodities. (b) Focus on Seafood. The scale of the seafood industry, its impact on livelihoods and criticality to climate change are under-appreciated. (c) Why Seafood? Species diversity enables direct reapplication to meat (fish & shellfish) and greens (Seaweeds & Seagrasses).
