For those outside the fisheries, aquaculture and sustainable oceans world, Fishackathon was first organized by the US Department of State’s Office of Global Partnerships in 2014 in order to bring the world together to protect life in our waters, make fisheries and aquaculture more sustainable and equitable, and preserve our planet’s future.

This year one of our key members, Mark Kaplan, is honored to be a global judge for the event, and he is personally excited to see the innovations that will emerge. Also, Jayson Berryhill will be in Singapore if you are there. When designing the Fishcoin network we have always envisioned Fishackathon having a role in order to provide innovators an opportunity to develop further solutions that can drive the velocity of data through global seafood supply chains.

As part of our participation this year, we have created a Fishcoin airdrop for Fishackathon participants, and anyone else interested in sustainable oceans, so they can have an early allocation of tokens to participate once the network is live — either by building industry tools that can be powered by Fishcoin tokens, or by gifting those tokens to those in the seafood industry. If you have never setup a wallet before no problem… here is a link to instructions which include downloading your wallet and then how to participate in the airdrop via Telegram. Reach out on telegram if you have any questions.

We are eager to see the innovations you come up with, and the whole Fishcoin team congratulate you on your commitment to making our oceans more sustainable.
