How to Deal with Cultures?

This is how you could start…

There are many ways to look at this, but it often starts with:

  1. Mindset — Pick the book by Carol Dweck, where she compares a growth mindset with a fixed mindset. You want to embrace the growth mindset, keep learning, ask questions, be interested in others. That’s the start of it all!
  2. Grit—Pick a book by Angelina Duckworth. She links to Carol's Mindset book and says that grit is about goals about passion, long-term goals, and maintaining your effort in the years to come despite the setbacks.
  3. Cultural Map— Pick the book by Erin Meyer to start understanding how different cultures operate. Many of us work in an international environment, just like our consultants.

Then, when you feel a bit equipped, it's time to take action and bring people together…;-)

Remember, cultural intelligence is not just emotional intelligence but sensitivity to understanding cultures, the ability to adapt behavior and language, and ultimately, the confidence to engage with others.
