Want to get in shape and not die young? Go for progress not perfection.
A new year is here. There is a desire of improvement in the air. You don’t sense it? Just walk into any gym.
Don’t worry. I’m not one of those new year scrooges that is crabby about everyone’s new year health goals and how they will give them up in a few weeks.
I actually get amped when I see a really out of shape person walk into the gym. That is not just an overweight person walking through the door. That is a walking, talking being of courage and vision. She or he has an eye on the prize. A vision in mind. Who knows how much courage that individual had to build up to get through those doors and to that treadmill! I am getting myself pumped up just talking about it.
That being said, go ahead and make those 2016 health goals. Its not too late. I consider myself to be in great shape, and even I have health goals for 2016.
Careful, though. As you begin to make those health goals don’t let the tractor beam that is Google pull you in. You know what I mean.

“Diet Plan”
Well would you just look at that.

Thanks Google.
You want to know what is wrong with those 81,000,000 results? Not a single person who wrote them knows you.
In case you didn’t know, there has never been and never will be another human being like you. You are one of kind. Your body responds to food and exercise completely different than little Johnny down the road, who can eat a whole pizza and gain no weight. You suck little Johnny.
Why force your body and lifestyle to work for a diet plan? Why not make the diet plan work for your body and lifestyle?
That, my friend, is how you make progress. And if you are after results and longevity, strive for progress, not perfection.
