‘Your dreams will continue to remain dreams unless you take some action to make them a reality.’

He succeeded in achieving this. She succeeded in doing that. They all are going great guns in life. What are you doing? I’m dreaming!

Does this sound like your story? Don’t you want to turn your dream into a reality? Or you just want to continue daydreaming? If you do, then it is time to pick your butt up from that cozy couch of procrastination on which you have been lying all this while, and take some action.

Here are some of the tips that will help you achieve this along the way -

  • Adorn the leadership hat

You were a leader — you were all this while. It’s just that you were a little casual with your approach towards everything in life. Now that you have decided to turn your dream into a real castle, it is time to adorn the leadership hat and take the ownership to drive it.

If you believe in it, you can achieve it — it’s as simple as that!

Note down your ideas, the steps you need to make it a reality, and the roadblocks you might have to face on the way. Don’t forget to set a timeline for each step (yes, breakdown your ultimate goal into small achievable milestones — this way you will continue to get the motivation drive everytime you achieve a milestone).

  • Look for expert advice

Everyone needs help. But the irony is not everyone asks for it. If you are passionate about something, and idolize someone who has mastered what you are passionate about, then without giving a second thought try to approach him or her for advice. More often than not people who are the top are ready to share their words of wisdom with people who are looking to make things happen.

Do your preparation, and show them that you really into it and want to make it big. A careless or laid back attitude while approaching industry experts will put an impression you would not want to put. Therefore, be enthusiastic and share what you have in mind with the roadmap or blueprint you have created to make your dream a reality. Chances are you would get the advice and help you are looking for.

  • Have answer for the WHYs and WHATs

What brought this idea to you? Why do you want to do this?

Answers to these questions can make or break your hopes to achieve your dream. Have clarity in mind about why you are doing, whatever you are doing so that whenever someone pops up the whats and whys you don’t have to remain red faced.

Remember anyone can come up with a big dream, but it requires a lot of research to clearly understand the feasibility of your dream. That’s why the second step mentioned above holds the key. It’s not that you have to justify your dream to anyone, but there will be times when your mind yourself will wander about these questions.

  • Build a team to fulfil your dream

Coming to the most important part — you cannot do everything on your own. You ought to have a team of people who can help you in your journey to make your dreams come true.

Invest in people more than anything else. Try to build a team of like minded people, because it will be easy for you to work collectively on your goal. As the saying goes — ‘Sometimes the most ordinary things could be made extraordinary simply by doing them with the right people.’ You can quite clearly understand how important it is to have the right people around you.

Conclusion

Turning dreams into reality requires COURAGE, CONVICTION AND COMMITMENT. If you lack any of these, the chances of you giving wings to your dreams are neutralized no matter how hard you strive to achieve them. All it would require from you is a conscious effort, and everything else will start to fit into its right place.

But, the question is — are you ready to put that effort?
