I’ll Ignore You. You Ignore Me.
We’ll all be as annoyed as can be.
REALLY? A GIF?
At this point, my thorough, carefully thought out responses were not working. They weren’t getting me anywhere. Instead, just one little image came back and it was enough to send me over the edge.
So I did the only thing that made sense at the time.
I decided to ignore the sh*t out of them.
If this sounds immature, that’s because it is. I’m pretty sure plenty of us walk around thinking we’re mature and adulting and all that jazz, only to do silly stuff like this.
We ignore. Block. Respond with the infamously annoying “k”. Or we get the response “k” and feel like we’re going to explode out of frustration because how dare they f*cking send us an answer with one letter.
Only the anti-christ would do that, after all.
I’m starting to think real life talking has become under-appreciated and lost on us. Just picking up the phone and calling someone we’re frustrated with can feel like a nerve-wracking experience.
And you don’t even have to look at the person!
I’d like to start talking again. I really like phone calls. Eye-contact is scary, but it’s necessary. Uncomfortable conversations become comfortable when you’ve had enough of them.
We’re having a serious shortage of conversation. Ignoring our problems. Ignoring fights. Ignoring conflict. Ignoring the slightest uncomfortable events in our lives.
I’m tired of engaging in meaningless conversation on impersonal platforms invented by jerks at big corporations trying to get me to buy into all of this being normal.
This shit is not fucking normal. None of it.
Let’s stop believing it is.
For heaven’s sake.
