Is fasting just a hype?

You know that trend that’s been getting the fitness community crazy, not eating for 8 to 14 hours and then eating a lot in a short window of time. I’ve been using it on and off for 4 months and it has its benefits but some bug setbacks for some.

Doing these kind of “harsh” diets is a bit hard at the beginning since your body is accustomed to be eating at least each 4 to 6 hours, so the first weeks are going to be really tiresome plus you’ll probably be with a bad temper and hungry as fuck, it’s normal meanwhile your body starts rebooting.

What I did to not get that hungry was drink loads of water and one or two cups of coffee (americano with little to no sugar) since these doesn’t affect the diet meanwhile you don’t drink too much coffee, it’s a good way to keep that hunger at bay and not go crazy at the same time, it’s like hitting two birds with one cup of coffee!

When you actually get to your 12 hour mark or whatever fasting time you did, you have the chance to eat what you didn’t eat in the whole day in meals, bear in mind that your body will soak up the nutrients and stuff much better than before since it was in “starving mode” with that said it shouldn’t go with no surprise that if you eat candy it won’t go to well.

Is it overhyped?

I don’t think so, I think that it is a good way to keep your body in a, good way without sacrificing good meals. The only dilemma is that not everybody can do these type of diets since they suffer from stomach problems, gastritis being one of the most common.

This could be mixed with the paleo diet for better results, or a diet that can supply you with all the right nutrients for a healthy body.

Fasted workout

This is a really good way to shock the system and burn fat first thing in the morning, it just requires you to get up and do cardio at high intensity (HIIT)

My recommandations are to eat right after doing this and if you don’t feel well while doing it, stop and eat a banana and some water. You shouldn’t do fasted cardio and then not eat anything (like if it was a normal fasting day) you eat immediately after working out.

With all of this information take a plunge and try fasting for a week or two and see how you feel!

Feel free to write me your results and or problems with fasting or any other fitness related topic!

Much love as always!
