Basketball is a physically demanding sport that requires all physical attributes to help you succeed. Lebron James seems like the perfect athlete when it comes down to modern-day basketball, as he seems to resemble the athleticism of Wilt Chamberlain. Julius Randle is a power forward who plays for the L.A Lakers. Magic Johnson said “ we don’t want anyone over 7–8%. Before the preseason, Julius Randle had a body percentage of 12.7%, so this means Julius Randle has a problem. Don’t lose the weight and you won’t see time on the floor, so he had to work extremely hard. In the preseason Julius Randle was able to go from 12.7% to 8.3% in three weeks while working with transformation coach Amoila Jamil Cesar.

Skipping
One of the exercises Julius used, and it is an extremely efficient way of losing weight. Skipping or Jump Rope is one of the games you probably played in primary school, but it is known to burn around 1300 calories per hour. Also if you look at Randle after his transformation you will see him look more toned and muscular, skipping is also a great way of improving balance, agility and coordination. Skipping is one of the best HIIT exercises as it is less stressful on the joints than an activity like running.

Medicine ball work
Another exercise Randle used was a lot of Medicine ball work; this is known to affect your core making it stronger. Medicine ball work can be done dynamically and is better for explosive movements rather than using dumbells; it also helps improve balance.One of the exercises he used was a Medicine ball slam which can develop power and explosive strength.

Resistance training
Resistance training is instrumental, especially in basketball. It can be used to improve your muscular strength and endurance. Moving your body against the natural force of gravity is harder than people think, but it is beneficial as it makes you more toned and leaner. He did a lot of exercises like the push-up, pull-ups and back pulls, and they were applied with resistance.

Stabilization exercises
Stabilization exercises are great if you want to improve your balance, which is very important in basketball. Another benefit of these exercises is their ability to develop your spinal stability; it also increases your muscle fibres. They also have a significant effect on your sports performance as these drills include your core which helps your balance.
