1. You thought you knew what you wanted to do when you grow up. But in a grown up’s world, there was no place to ‘just play’ or ‘eat candy all the time’.

2. You thought your parents are protecting you…until you went out in the world to get eaten up and wonder, hey, why didn’t you teach me how to swim in the blood.

3. You thought your education is going to make your life….until you got fucked in relationships and job and wondered which chapter did I miss that mattered. Wait a minute, there was no subject called life!

4. You thought you will work your ass off in your job and get to the top. And, then, you got politically kicked out for being dumb also known as naive. Stuff your degrees now and find a MOOC on reality.

5. You thought you have found the love of your life. I mean, both of you said ‘I love you’ — that counts, right? And then, you figured you were both just scared of being lonely. You only love yourself. What is love anyway?

6.You thought the world owes you something until you got kicked in the gut and no one called 911.

7. You thought you would please others and make them like you. But you figured the world is always angry especially at the ones who try to do something.

8. You thought weird shit happened to others. And then you started writing about your depression on Medium for the whole world to read.

9. You thought you had hit the rock bottom until the earth opened and engulfed you deeper into a nothingness that ate the black holes.

10. You thought you knew what it takes to be happy. But…you were so wrong :)

And that is okay. Because now, you can drop the facade that you matter. You have nothing left to lose. You can just accept yourself to be the ignorant fools we all are and figure out everything for the first time.

Just like babies without any memory. Like the raw seed of life that sprouts in a fetus. Like the freshly painted wall. Like the virgin cotton flower. Like the river springing forth from the earth.

Failures and disappointments are the price you pay for unlearning whatever you need to before you can be your own authentic self. This is where you either make or break it.

You better fly and make it down the cliff.

A Barnacle gosling must dive over 400ft from it’s nest on a cliff top to reach it’s parents down below (spot the chick!)
