Fed to Sit Tight Until Late 2016

Reaction comment from Brian Coulton, Chief Economist at Fitch Ratings, on the FOMC statement on July 6th 2016

“With the Brexit vote, a key global risk identified by the Fed has become a reality. Along with the recent poor jobs numbers this will see the Fed sitting tight until late 2016. Medium term global growth risks have also risen after Brexit and this will likely mean a shallower trajectory for Fed normalisation through 2017 and 2018.”
