Setting up an appealing profile and class page is your first step in building your successful online teaching business. Now it’s time to spread the word!

To help you get started, we have prepared a list of tips and suggestions:

  • The most important tip — Don’t wait around for clients to drop in on your class page: bring them to you. The greater your exposure, the greater your chances are to get booked.

Use Instagram to promote your online private classes:

Add your class link to your Instagram bio so followers will see it in your profile. In the description field, write that you provide online personal classes and point to the link. Instagram lets you add only one link to your bio, so if you have multiple links, you can use linktree.

Tell your followers about your online live classes in your Instagram videos, posts and stories. Invite them to visit your class page and book online classes.
If you have a business profile you can add links to your stories.

Follow fitmytime_onlinefitness and tag us on your posts & stories. We will re-post your content.

Use Facebook to promote your online private classes:

Share the direct link to your class . You can either copy your class direct address and share it or use the sharing buttons on your page. When you share your class page on Facebook, for example, it will show your picture and class name in it:

–Add a call for action on your Facebook Page — Facebook allows you to set up a button on your page for people to take action. Use this button to direct people to your online class link.

–Join FitMyTime’s Facebook group: “Ask a yoga teacher” — a place to talk about yoga practice. Invite your fellow teachers and students, answer questions and offer tips and help. This can be a great way to reach new students online!

–Follow FitMyTime on Facebook and tag us in your posts.

–Consider promoting your online class on Facebook — Boosting a post on Facebook means paying to get your content seen by more people. This option is available to anyone with a business page. Facebook boost allows you to reach a wide audience, and you’ll be able to set parameters for the types of people who will see your post. For example, you can share your class link on your page and target a specific demographic, like 25 to 35-year-old women in the United States. You have full control over how much you spend, with budgets as low as $1 per day. You can run your ad for a fixed period of time. More about how to use Facebook boost — here.

More tips and ideas:

  • Reach out to former clients who used to train with you, but currently live far away. Chances are they will be thrilled to reconnect and have the opportunity to train with you online.
  • Reach out to friends and family and let them know about your new exciting endeavor. Ask them to help build a buzz around your business and spread the word by sharing your direct link. They might also know people who could be interested and refer them to you. There is no better way to grow your online clientele than by word-of-mouth.
  • Consider offering a limited-time discount or a free trial class to encourage people to work out with you online. For example, offer a 30% discount every other Friday, or offer a couples/friends workout for the price of a single workout. You can edit and change the price on your page at any given moment — use that option creatively.
  • Blog about your new online business. For example, you can write about the advantages of personal online workouts, about the way this kind of training can help different populations, etc.
  • If you don’t blog yourself, but have friends who are bloggers or journalists, you can offer them an online class, and ask them to write about their experience.
  • Run a raffle on your social media channels and offer a free private online workout as a prize.
  • Make sure to ask each one of your clients to write a review on your page. Reviews are important for potential customers who visit your class page.
  • Repeat your promotions every few weeks to keep attracting new customers. Don’t exaggerate but be consistent. Getting people to try a new way of working out may take time, so you need to be patient and committed.

Building a clientele online does take a bit of social media work. Choose the tips that you feel comfortable with and that fit best with your personality and work style. Keep innovating and finding new ways to grow and expand your online training business.

Meanwhile, you can read more about how it works.
