The image that follows, is taken by my uncle who owns a mobile phone shop in a village in Gujarat called Lunavada.

The man in the picture runs a PaniPuri (popular Indian street food) stall. Each plate (serving) costs Rs. 12 ($ 0.177) and consists of 6 puris. Say he sells 50 a day and works 28 days a month, he makes 28*50*12 = Rs. 16,800 ($ 247.605) which becomes about Rs. 10,000 ($150) after deducting expenses.

And he’s buying a Rs. 8,000 ($ 120) cell phone with all his hard earned money. This is quite literally, mobile first.
