What Makes a Great Soccer Player?

In this video, we will be looking at what makes a great soccer player. We will be focusing on goals and assists which is a major part in the career of the greatest soccer players to have ever set foot on the pitch. The players we will be focusing on have broken records and have had longevity as well. We will be comparing it between each of the players. You will be able to see two different data physicalizations. The first data physicalization will be done on a soccer field where we will be representing the amount of goals a player has scored as well as their longevity. This will be represented by positioning. Depending on where the ball is shot to, it will represent a lower or higher amount of goals as well as a shorter or longer longevity if it’s to the right or left. In our second visualization we show the number of assists comparing Ronaldo vs Messi. We represent this with clay balls, each ball represents 10 assists. In the video, you will be able to clearly see who has the higher number of assists. The members of the group are Ivo Caminata and Gorka Echevarria, along with Dayannara Hernandez. Gorka and Ivo are from Argentina and Spain respectively, both countries with a huge soccer following. Having always had soccer as a cultural thing, they decided they wanted to base their data physicalizations in this subject. We hope everyone enjoys this video.
