Bottom of the Rock

Caught up in the gravity
of who I want to be
Without any answers
Just trying to be me
Whoever that is
I can’t even see
past the half-empty bottle
and the poison in me.
So help me God,
help me be free.
If you were there
I’d dare you to face me —
instead, I’ll just settle
like I always do.
For stories and songs
that soothe the soul smooth.
One more sip
one more shot,
one more bottle —
cheers, to the bottom of the rock.
