Xioami Mi Room Robot Vacuum

by Xiaomi

Life is short, so why vacuum yourself? My cat loves leaving his hairs all over the house, but he never cleans up after himself. Now he has a small robot following him around, picking up hairs while I’m at work.

I’ve been in the market for a good robot vacuum for a while, but found pricing to be a bit steep for models that can be controlled via WiFi and an app. Luckily Jonatan Castro shared his satisfaction with his Mi Robot, so I went to AliExpress and got myself a robot to clean.

I wouldn’t say I never have to vacuum any more, but it’s doing its job really well and finds its way around/through chairs, tables and corners.

Integrating Animation into a Design System

by Alla Kholmatova

Our team at Yummygum is building and using Design Systems on a daily basis now to ensure a consistent and coherent interface for web or mobile apps. It’s beneficial for the team, as well as the product. Incorporating animation into these systems has always been a desire of us, and this article kickstarts that again. Such a good and in-depth article on how to approach this missing piece in a lot of Design Systems.

Scandinavian Design: Volvo XC60

by Volvo

Being a fan of Scandinavian design is not hard these days with brands like HAY, Norse Projects, IKEA and string furniture releasing gorgeous products. Another brand has grabbed my attention now again, namely Volvo. They have been killing it since Zlatan revealed the new V90, and them releasing the XC90 and S90. Recently they also unleashed the XC60, the smaller and more affordable SUV model. Not in my price range yet, but drooling nonetheless.

My First Big Screw-Up: Lessons From 8 Top Designers

by Meg Miller

It may sound cheesy but failing is a great way to learn. I’ve been there, you’ve been there, we’ve all been there when we screwed up so hard it learned us a lesson for life. Both in your personal as in your professional life this a great way to grow. Don’t be afraid to fail.
