Flash Fiction Challenge #10 is inspired by these three words: diamond ring, tattoo, lightbulb.

The walls seemed to repel the meagre glow of the lightbulb that was clinging to the ceiling on a gnarled piece of old electrical cable. The mould and grime cast deep shadows into the cracks in the plaster.

A fist fell with force onto the rugged table in the middle of the room. The boom echoed around the walls while the diamond ring clanked around on the tray it sat on.

It came to rest in the silence.

“Where did you get this?” His fist was still on the table where it had landed.

She shrugged. The heavy make-up held her face expressionless for a moment. Her right eyebrow, which was defined by a fine tattoo, raised slightly.

“You leave me no choice.” He picked up the ring and left, the door slamming so hard the walls shook.

“CUT! Idiot, that wall moved again. Reset camera!”

“Take Six. ACTION!”
