Wishes come true

We’ve for quite some time had a wishlist. And you’ve asked a few times how we’ve utilized this, and if anything from the wishlist do end up on Flattr. Since there’s no automatic way for it to be cleaned when things are added we’re now giving you a wrap up of what’s actually gotten on Flattr.

Wikileaks was high on the wishlist. They added Flattr quite early, and we’ve explained why we’ve continued to support them when other payment services withdrew their account. [Flattr]

Vodo.net were listed in the wishlist, and as we told you earlier in a small post they are now facilitating flattr-buttons for all the movies featured on their site. Vodo.net is a bittorrent site for independent movies. You might have heard of Pioneer One and The Yes Men. [Flattr]

After the Twitter integration we’ve seen a few others sign up, because of fans telling them they got flattrs waiting.

We mentioned the other day that David Flanagan now uses Flattr. Who is he you wonder? Some of you coders out there might already know. He’s an author of a bunch of programming books. Like for example JavaScript The Definite Guide, which is also available to buy on amazon. [Flattr]

The Oatmeal had more pending clicks waiting for them, than they had gotten votes on the old wishlist. Way to go! We’re glad to declare that you now can support this great Webcomic via Flattr. [Flattr]

Creative Commons can now be flattred! The nonprofit organization develops, supports, and stewards legal and technical infrastructure that maximizes digital creativity, sharing, and innovation. Creative Commons was also quite high on the wishlist. [Flattr]

What else?
We can see that you’ve already started to add the things you want via the flattr a Twitter account tool, and there’s a bunch of Unclaimed things waiting for their right owner to come and claim it.
xkcd — “a webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math, and language”. Was for a long while the top on the wishlist but later got surpassed by Wikipedia. [Flattr]
Wikipedia — the online encyclopedia that everyone can participate in creating. Topped the wishlist but now is far behind xkcd on the pending flattrs. [Flattr]
EFF.org — Electronic Frontier Foundation has climbed quite a bit in comparison to the wishlist. [Flattr]
Open Street Map — the free editable map of the whole world. Open Street Map also ranked high on the old wishlist. [Flattr]

The following were not on the previous wishlist, but are now, together with the above, among the top on unclaimed things.
John Gruber has over the weekend climbed up on the list. He’s main project is a technology blog called Daring Fireball, and he also works on the lightweight markup language Markdown, and co-hosts a podcast called The Talk Show.
