Treasure Hunt: Find Yer Booty

Join us every Sunday — Friday for a treasure hunt with cash prizes and mystery loot!

A week ago, we tested a new long-distance race called the Treasure Hunt. It’s a hybrid between a live race and a genius question.

The Idea

Players play each nightly live race Sunday — Friday to hunt for clues. Throughout the week, players piece together the clues to solve for a theme. On Friday around noon, we set up a genius question for players to enter their guesses for the Treasure Hunt theme.

The winner scores a cash prize + a credit bonus consisting of the cumulative amount of entries in each nightly live race Sunday — Friday. Runners-up can send us a DM on Twitter to claim smaller credit prizes.

How Did It Go?

Pretty well! In all, there were 605 entries in the nightly live races Sunday — Friday. That means that our winner, Jessica C., won $75 + 605 free credits.

Alrighty.

1. Play each nightly live race at 9:30 pm ET from Sunday to Friday.
2. Keep an eye out for questions marked [TREASURE CLUE]. These are the clues that you’ll need to remember in order to guess the theme.
3. There is only one Treasure Clue per nightly game, six in total.
4. On Friday around 12:00 pm ET, we’ll put up a genius question. The first person to guess the correct theme wins the cash prize plus a credit bonus.
5. The credit bonus is calculated by adding up the amount of entries in the nightly live races from Sunday through Friday. So if 400 people play Sunday, 50 people play Monday, 40 play on Tuesday, 60 on Wednesday, 50 on Thursday, and 50 on Friday, the winner would receive 650 credits.
6. Once the genius question is solved, the first 3 people to DM us the correct theme on Twitter will be given bonus credits.
7. If the genius question is not solved by noon on Saturday, we’ll compile the Treasure Clues onto a photo and turn it into a normal genius question. The credit bonus will rollover to the next week’s Treasure Hunt.
