Our flagship product, “Vehicle Tracking & Analytics Platform”, was launched in 2017, to give fleet owners a birds-eye view of their fleet.

Fleetx’s real-time dashboard, being the most used one, had started as a simple tracking product and evolved into a fully-featured dashboard for the majority of our client’s needs. With key shortcuts, important trip & dispatch details, this real-time dashboard’s usage time exceeded 80% of the total fleetx usage time.

With all the updates, this dashboard needed an improvement, Fleetx’s all-new real-time dashboard was thus built from the ground up. It was not just a redesign of the system for us, but more than that, it helped us provide a new and enhanced experience for our new & existing users.

Why redesign our system?

Our first real-time system was created back in 2017. It was built to enhance the existing features but it was not as scalable as we wanted it to be. That is why we started working on a more flexible solution. Being a technology company that deeply values design, we decided to redesign it in-house.

We started with re-thinking the foundation of every new experience that we add to the Fleetx real-time dashboard, wherein developers, product managers only need to share client’s inputs and that can be easily added into our product without redesigning the whole feature.

How did we approach?

First, we analyzed the data of each and every section of our dashboard, through the number of click rates. Also, our team visited existing clients to discuss real problems with our product.

After spending about one month, we got a lot of inputs and feedback from the clients, and also from our data analysis, and found that a lot of information needs to be restructured.

We wanted to give more flexibility to Fleetx owners to check their assets from anywhere. Hence in the new design, this was given more visibility of the real-time tracking for fleet owners. We placed the vehicles icon to give visibility of the assets and the change of the information structure.

More flexibility in terms of viewing our product in full-width list view, Split View, and full-width map view.

This is how we solved the problem of users in our real-time dashboard with old and new versions of the product dashboard and easily track all assets with detailed information.
