Fuel Management Software is always a priority to the fleet owners. We at fleetx have come up with a better fuel Management System in India with efficiency like no other in the market.
Fuel management software

Fuel (Diesel/Petrol/CNG) is one of the biggest expenses for fleets. As per the industry average, 45% of the total expenses are on fuel. So fuel Management Software is always a priority to the fleet owners. We at fleetx have come up with a better fuel Management System in India with an efficiency like no other in the market. To improve efficiency, we have used some new sensors instead of the traditional sensors like Fuel Level Sensor.

Fuel Level Sensor limitation in Fuel Management System

Fuel level sensors are instruments designed to measure the fuel level in the fuel tank of the vehicle. The sensors are connected to the telematics terminal and provide the fuel level values. However, this sensor fails to give accurate measurements whenever the vehicle is on motion and with inconsistent data, its as good as no data. These sensors can only be fitted on heavy duty diesel trucks. Fitting fuel sensors in cars and light goods vehicles is not feasible.

Advanced sensors for improved mileage

Fleetx takes information about your vehicle’s ECU (Engine Control Unit) from OBD Port. This gives us access to several different sensors that we use to make our calculations.

Fuel Sensors that we use to calculate fuel efficiency in Fuel Management Software

  • Manifold absolute pressure sensor is a key sensor because it senses engine load. The sensor generates a signal that is proportional to the amount of vacuum in the intake manifold. The engine computer then uses this information to adjust ignition timing and fuel enrichment.
  • Intake air temperature sensor (IAT) This sensor determines the temperature and forwards the voltage signals arising from the temperature to the ECU.
  • Mass Air Flow (MAF) is a sensor used to determine the mass flow rate of air entering a fuel-injected internal combustion engine. The air mass information is necessary for the engine control unit (ECU) to balance and deliver the correct fuel mass to the engine.
  • Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) gives the on-board computer information about vehicle speed. The sensor operates on the principle of the Hall Effect and is usually mounted on the tachometer or in the gearbox.

Vehicle Engine CC affects mileage

The power output of an engine is directly proportional to the engine capacity in conventional engine design. As the volume of the cylinders increases, the power output also increases while the mileage decreases.

How we calculate mileage for Petrol/Diesel vehicles?

The above parameters are fed into our own system and using smart algorithms at the hardware level and additional intelligence at the server level, we are able to calculate the amount of fuel used and the vehicle mileage with a very good amount of km per litre mileage accuracy in our Fuel Management Software .
