Summer is my favorite season in Boston. While we all know these warmer days don’t last very long (sigh), there’s so much to do around the city.

So, I decided to crowdsource a bit and ask my colleagues what’s on their summer bucket list. The list is endless, but here are some of the few things our team is itching to do in Boston while it’s warm outside — everything from local events, to outdoor workout sessions, to great networking events. Hope you enjoy! And please comment below to tell us what’s on your list.

Outdoor Fun

1. Time Out Market (opens June 27): Time Out Market Boston will showcase the city’s best chefs and restaurateurs, drink-slingers and cultural offerings, all handpicked by Time Out’s editors. Located in the heart of Fenway, this market will soon become a must-stop place for food, drink, and culture lovers.

2. Boston Pizza Festival (July 13–14): Settle the debate on who has the best pizza in Boston at this annual festival with 30 vendors waiting to serve you pizza. In addition to pizza, expect live music, entertainment, beer and wine, and fun activities.

3. First Fridays at ICA (through Sept 6): Head to the ICA on the first Friday of every month this summer, for an evening of art, music, fun activities, specialty cocktails and dancing all night. The theme for July’s event is Surfin’ USA, so bring your friends, wax your surfboard and grab your board shorts!

4. Seaport Sweat (until Sept 28): Boston’s biggest free outdoor workout series, Seaport Sweat is back for its fourth season. Cardio, yoga, pilates and run club are just some of the workouts you can choose from to enjoy with your fellow Bostonians.

5. Charles River Canoe and Kayak (ongoing): Experience the beautiful Boston skyline from a kayak on the Charles River, or take a sunset tour and get the best view of the city lights. You can also rent a boat for the Fourth of July to have a one-of-a-kind experience watching the fireworks.

Networking Events

6. Boston Women in Tech and Allies Networking Night (June 21): This is an opportunity for industry professionals, students, and interns to network and mingle while learning about opportunities at Boston companies, explore the different fields of technology, and make some friends in the city.

7. Is anyone listening? How PR Pros Respond to Reporters & Build Relationships (June 27): Ever wanted to know how journalists feel about PR professionals? Jon Chesto from The Boston Globe and Simón Ríos from WBUR flip the table and discuss their experiences with PR pros and explain what it’s like to be a reporter in this current media environment.

8. TED Evening Hour — Analyzing Our Obsession with Speed (July 24): shameless plug, but we’re hosting an event at our offices and we’d love to see you! We’ll watch a TED Talk centered around a relevant societal topic — this time, our culture’s obsession with speed — and then launch into an interactive conversation digging into the issue and assessing whether the brands we work with can tap into the topic in an authentic way. RSVP here.

9. She+ Geeks Out in Boston July Networking Event sponsored by Workable (July 30): She+ Geeks Out hosts happy hour events at different company headquarters in Boston. Join them at Workable for a fun night of learning, networking, eating and drinking.

10. BostonFest (Aug 1): The city’s coolest young professionals from top startup companies will come together for a huge party celebrating culture and innovation at BostonFest. Boston’s coolest companies of 2019 will be crowned, and there will be food, music, and celebrations for everyone to enjoy.
