What makes Flex-Appeal different, and better, for developers

A couple of weeks ago myself and some of the team sat down to talk about how we could attract some of the best people around to join our Engineering team.

At Flex-Appeal we have a great team of ambitious developers. We offer an unique employee experience platform for non-desk organizations to engage and connect with their employees. Did you know that 75% of all organizations in the world are a non-desk workforce?

In this post, I’d like to share some of the reasons why we enjoy working at Flex-Appeal.

1. Bold and big technical mission which we are laying the groundwork for
   As a company, we aim to reach 2 million users in 2023. We are not afraid to challenge ourselves and try to do big things. This is a great challenge and does require some solid knowledge and passion.
2. We ship multiple times a week instead of monthly
   We believe shipping is the heartbeat of the product. It’s our obsession to get things out of the door and get direct feedback on the work from our customers.
3. Growth mindset
   Everyone on the team has a growth mindset. Not a fixed, close-minded, “back in the day” mindset, but focused on building the future. We highly value passion & craftsmanship, as well as a positive attitude and teamwork. At Flex-Appeal we don’t have dull meetings, boring colleagues, ignorance or assholes. We are a group of ambitious individuals who do great work as a team.
4. Great technology
   Because we are up-to-date on the latest technology trends, it keeps the work motivating and challenging. Of course, when choosing a new technology our end-user is always our top priority.
5. Responsibility
   As a fast-growing startup, we are still looking at a wide range of far-reaching decisions to be made. This means we are encouraged to think and develop new ideas on how to improve the platform. Being part of a small team also means that there is a lot of responsibility and ownership.
6. Great workplace and freedom to work from home
   We are located in a coworking space in Rotterdam. We are surrounded by startups, guaranteeing a creative, young, open-minded environment with a lot of opportunities to meet and interact with other like-minded individuals. Did we already mention the great view? No? Oh, well damn do we have one! From our office on the 10th floor, you can see all over Rotterdam. And in case the skyline doesn’t make you happy, the slide in our building definitely will!
