1. Who are We?
We are ordinary people with a vision.
Our vision is a world which creates and shares 100x happiness with one another (‘100x’ means 100 times). We imagine living in a future where sharing is the norm- and while what people share with one another will primarily be tangible goods or items, we believe that of greater significance will be the core experience of sharing itself. We see it being selflessly open, free, and trusting. It is one that is defined by happiness.
We believe that happiness is embodied in two ways:
a. Every item, or object, has a story. This story is a unique piece of memory that you may hold dear to your heart. It gives you that warm little jolt whenever you look at it. As you pass it on, you are passing on that piece of happiness to another person; in exchange for a new fragment of happiness belonging to him or her. Happiness is being shared amongst others. The stories live on.
b. The happiness is embedded in the experience of sharing. Imagine the joy of opening up a brand new gift even when it may not be your birthday. And, imagine the smile light up on the other person’s face when he or she receives that special item. Say hello and turn that stranger into a possibly life-long friend or partner. Enjoy that positively happy process and allow it to impact your life in more ways than one.
We are inspired by the vision of a world of meaningful happiness. And to us, barter is the magical tool that can unlock the pathway to that vision. Sharing is a way of life, and we want to embrace it in order to bring as much value to you as possible.
2. What do we want to do?
Our mission for the community is to inspire greater acts of sharing which in turn creates more authentic trust and happiness.
We see this as a movement, where we reimagine the ways in which we connect with and share pieces of our lives with others. It is not about living in isolation, but opening up to a supportive community who will help one another when the going gets tough. We believe that even while the world has become so interconnected today, trust is still fairly scarce. You aren’t sure if the other person on the other side is being honest, if he or she wants to simply lowball, or if he or she is only interested in making a quick buck or two. We want to get to a world where everyone is interested in maximising genuine value for everyone else. It starts from an act as small as sharing something, and engaging in a simple exchange of value. Or from understanding the stories behind every single life encounter and experience. Or from putting ourselves in the shoes of others, and knowing that everyone is actually part of this larger family.
3. And yes, that’s that.
In 1 day, an exclusive apparel trading group will be created for like-minded sharers to co-create and share value with one another. This marks the beginning of a bigger journey and more exciting times ahead. You may look out for our bartering mobile application that is set to launch by end May 2018 :)
This will be an awesome ride; and it is made awesome only because of you and your presence. Without you, we will not be able to get to that vision of making our future a happier place to live in. We need you, together on this ride with us.
