Dexter Morgan, your favorite Blood Spatter Analyst serial killer extraordinaire is back from the dead in Dexter: Resurrection. The new series, starting on July 11 promises to excel as we see old friends and new ones enter the Dexter multiverse.

In the chronological series, Dexter: New Blood fans were saddened to see their favorite serial killer dead on the forest floor, at the hands of his teenage son Harrison. Harrison then drove off into a new life without his serial killing dad.

How is Dexter resurrected? When asked how Dexter can still be alive, Dexter actor Michael C. Hall says, “Harrison was a good shot, but not quite good enough.” He snickers, “It was very cold on that forest floor. It slows your heart down.”

I actually love how this plot solution is based on real science. It’s highly unlikely Dexter could have survived a close range shot to the chest, but possible. I’m guessing ol’ Dexter Morgan fans will give the show grace. After all, fans like me are delighted to have another taste of Dexter.
