The pathways of life and a long committed marriage are filled with bumps and bruises. Sometimes the roads intertwine and the road less traveled can be in an old RV.

As the metaphor of life well lived, the RV brings adventures and adversity as it does in the 2017 comedy/drama The Leisure Seeker. Veteran actors, Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren create a heartwarming story of the persistence, commitment and flexibility required in long-term marriage.

In the story Ella Spencer, played by Helen Mirren, has advanced cancer and has decided to refuse treatment. Her husband John, played by Donald Sutherland, has advanced Alzheimer’s. They have two grown children, Will and Jane, who do care dearly for them but are caught unaware of their parents impromptu road trip to Florida. Ella’s embraces the experience she wants to have this trip. This is one last trip in the Leisure Seeker to give her husband one final memory, even if he can’t remember it.
