Review:

Thrillers and horror being my favorite genres, I was pleasantly pleased with Ready or Not, starring Samara Weaving (who looks a lot like Margot Robbie, but is in fact NOT Margot Robbie). It was a decently presented predator-prey film, that took “sadistic” to richly high heights, as a wealthy family hunts Samara Weaving’s character throughout their lavish estate.

Ready or Not starts off as your run-of-the-mill “girl meets boy, who then meets boy’s family” flick, but we get little clues eluding to something being not quite right early on, and of course, Samara Weaving’s character, Grace, is completely oblivious to them. This through no fault of her own, though — who goes into a “meet the family” situation suspecting something to be wrong?

But things aren’t just wrong here — they’re deathly wrong. It soon becomes clear that things are not the least bit “family friendly” when people start dying, as Grace finds herself being hunted, but I’ll try not to spoil too much for those who are reading this and still haven’t seen the movie, as I try to do with all my reviews.

Horror and thriller flicks are my favorites, and sometimes it’s difficult to find a truly well-executed horror flick, but Ready or Not delivered, with a good concept, and good development of its story.

I give Ready or Not a “B.”
