Flickswitch has launched its business SIM management service, SIMcontrol, in Namibia.

This follows the recent launch in Kenya and is part of the company’s pan-African expansion strategy. In partnership with the leading local telecoms operator MTC, the service helps companies to easily manage large numbers of SIM cards cost-effectively. Flickswitch now enables businesses to self-manage their mobile communication spend with a range of MTC products online and in real-time.

“With this Flickswitch partnerships we firmly believe that it will stimulate innovation, support startups and large corporates alike, with the necessary business tools to address their mobile requirements” says Tim Ekandjo, Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer at MTC.

The SIMcontrol service is the first of its kind in Namibia. “This is a significant step forward to grow our African footprint and remain the leader in business SIM management on the African continent” says Kees Snijders, Managing Director of the Flickswitch Group. “The African Internet of Things (IoT) market is poised for rapid growth in several sectors, not only in traditional areas such as fleet management and point of sale but also new areas such as advanced agriculture, utility metering and smart security”.

The partnership with MTC creates an innovative mobile eco-system that gives Namibian businesses with large scale communication needs access to self-help SIM management tools. Managing communication costs is an important factor in many industries and a key enabler for economic growth in these sectors.

“Our partnership with MTC will add further geographic reach which will enable us to better help our customers build the internet of things in Africa.” said Snijders.
