Announcing The Full Circle Writing Challenge Winner
Applause to all the writers!
“To me, the model of success is not linear. Success is completing the full circle of yourself.”
— Gloria Steinem
And now the writing circle is complete. It’s that time to announce the winner. This is the best part, but also the most difficult for me because I wish I could just pay everyone $50 for their submissions. I really do.
We all deserve to get paid for our writing, don’t ya think?!
Writing is an act of bravery. Sometimes it’s difficult putting your story out there for the world to read. But it needs to happen. To better understand the world and even ourselves.
I want to thank all the writers who took the time to share their full circle moments. I appreciate you all so much.
As a reminder, you can view the shortlist here and all the challenge submissions here.

The Winner
Congrats to Terry Barr with his submission, “Closing the Education Circle.”
I was intrigued by the layers of full circles when I first read his piece. The intermingling of Elise’s circle with Terry’s relationship with academia to the literature Terry is teaching this autumn.
The circle continues to spin with the questions he raises, reminding us circles never quite cease. It’s important to keep asking the questions, even the ones we may never know the answers. It’s when we stop asking them that the line of axis tilts and crumbles.
“Will understanding complete me, us?
