Get More Flipboard Exposure by Joining a Publishing Community
One of Flipboard’s unique benefits is its tight-knit community. In the last 12 years, I have met many incredible people and built a solid membership group with amazing users from all walks of life. I learn something new every day from these inspiring creatives.
I can’t stress enough that connecting with other creative professionals on Flipboard is essential. Follow their magazines, comment on their work, and collaborate on projects. Networking might lead to valuable opportunities and exposure within the creative community.
Here are some of the reasons to leverage a Flipboard community for traffic:
Curate Niche Magazines: Niche-specific magazines focus on themes your audience cares about, like “pumpkin lattes” or “ holiday gaming tips.” This attracts readers who are already interested in your topics.
Comment and Share: Respond to comments, thank readers for sharing, and join discussions. This helps build relationships and keeps people coming back to your content.
Follow Influencers: Connect with other like-minded creators, influencers, and writers on Flipboard. By sharing each other’s content, you can reach a wider audience and draw their followers to your page.
Please Promote Your Flipboard Magazines on Other Platforms: Share your Flipboard magazines on your blog, social media, and email newsletters. Invite your audience to explore your Flipboard content, where they may discover more of your work.
Optimize Headlines and Descriptions: Catchy headlines and fun descriptions attract more views from Flipboard’s recommendations, increasing the likelihood of being featured or shown to users interested in your topics.
Participate in Groups: Start your group magazine and invite friends. Return the favor by joining others for added exposure.
As you join communities, you find valuable groups that you never knew existed but will enhance your professional life. One such group is the Brilliant Bloggers. This group of bloggers and publishers share a wealth of knowledge about all things relating to the business of blogging. Flipboard is only one of the topics they advise on.
I met some of the members of this influential group in my Flipboard User Group Facebook community. I was invited to become a Flipboard expert advisor and gladly accepted. I was in for a pleasant surprise. A whole new world of opportunities opened up right in front of me. Beyond the Flipboard marketing strategies I offer, there are experts in every online marketing and blogging field, Facebook, backlinks, advice on ebook marketing, and hiring a VA. I ran out of room to list them all. I highly recommend you join to find out more.
I’ll speak no further and introduce you to the three founders and let their words speak for themselves:

1. What prompted you to start Brilliant Bloggers?
A couple of years ago, Facebook decided to ban me. They revoked my access to post anything other than replies to other people’s comments. This came about from participating in blogger groups for link exchanges, roundup requests, and other blog-related activities. I was locked out of Facebook for a few weeks, and then I started hearing about other people getting the same punishments. Facebook looked over our shoulder, telling us how we could and couldn’t do business. At about the same time, I started realizing that all the blogger communities were very niche — that the food bloggers all belonged to food site groups, the travel bloggers to their groups, and so on. There were no opportunities to learn from bloggers in other niches.
I had dabbled in Slack with some other groups, and after Mandy and I got to talking, we decided to ask a group of blogger friends to take a chance with us and move all our conversations to Slack. The rest is history, and now BrilliantBloggers has well over 1,000 members.
2. How has Flipboard helped you build the BB community?
Flipboard has been supporting Brilliant Bloggers since day one. We’ve hosted several chats with the Flipboard Creator Team, and they have shared Flipboard’s best practices with our community. In return, we’re big supporters of Flipboard, offering resources to help our members grow their Flipboard accounts and general help and support to Flipboard users. Currently, we have three different programs for bloggers from all niches who use Flipboard, and access to these is available to all Essential and Elite members.

- How do you use BB to enhance your blog’s reach and engagement?
I fully utilize all of the channels in BB so that my sites reach many different audiences. Every day, I participate in the Flipboard, Pinterest, Facebook, and Google Deep Search channels and see a difference in reach. These channels are designed to distribute your flips, pins, and posts to a much wider audience than you have already, and I see great results. But it’s not only the regular threads in the channels that help me improve my reach; it’s the valuable and collaborative way that our members share information about what’s working and what’s to avoid, and also the unmissable webinars by industry experts that help me fine tune my strategies.
2. What type of Flipboard magazines do you find resonate most with your readers?
Always the niched-down magazines rather than the more general ones. Think of how you categorize your blog, then this is what seems to work for Flipboard. I try to have a magazine for each category. However, I open magazines slowly and ensure an engaged following before opening another.

- What tips do you have for bloggers looking to join BB?
Joining BB is a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and gain valuable insights. Engaging with the community is essential, as well as asking questions and participating in discussions. This isn’t just about networking — it’s a chance to learn and grow through shared experiences. By contributing your thoughts and resources, you’ll find that your support comes back to you unexpectedly and meaningfully. Please make the most of BB’s specific channels for platforms like Flipboard or Pinterest, as they are excellent tools to expand your blog’s reach and visibility. Lastly, take advantage of the experts and webinars available. They are designed to help you refine your strategies and provide actionable advice you can apply immediately.
2. What strategies do you find most useful for content curation on Flipboard?
Content curation on Flipboard is most effective when you focus on specific niches. Creating targeted magazines with clear, engaging themes attracts readers who are genuinely interested in your content. Beyond simply curating, engaging with others on the platform by commenting on their flips and responding to any comments you receive is essential. This helps foster community and keeps your magazines active and relevant. Promoting your Flipboard content on other platforms like social media or email newsletters can drive additional traffic and introduce your work to new audiences. Finally, crafting catchy and well-thought-out headlines is crucial, as they draw readers to your magazines significantly.
When building a small business, you need encouragement and support. You will find it in this group. I recommend you give Brilliant Bloggers a try. You have everything to gain. If you learn more about Flipboard Strategies, you will find me there, and I will be ready to answer your questions.
