My Leica shots and Flipboard
Because it is very useful for me to post photos on Flipboard
Among other things, I work as a photojournalist for some news agencies (including my Biancavela Press) and take a lot of photos every day. Not all photos taken are then chosen by agency editors. This is why I put aside the unchosen shots and put them together with some shots specially made for friends and customers, to be able to share them with them on social networks, because I believe that sharing is important…
I am active on different social networks, like Facebook, Instagram, Vero True Social, also Mastodon, Twitter (X?), and Bluesky. But above all my main social network has now become Flipboard, where I curate magazines and storyboards specifically to share photographs.
I photograph daily with my trusted iPhone 13 (soon I will switch to the iPhone 15 when Apple launches it to the public, probably in September) because I always have it with me and it is often important not to miss a moment. But of course, I do a lot of work with SLR (Nikon) and mirrorless cameras, my favorites are Leica cameras. For years I have been using the M system (M10, M11) with various lenses (28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 90mm…), sometimes SL2 cameras, and often the Q system, first with the Q2 and now with the new Q3.
For a month I have been intensively testing Leica’s new mirrorless Q3, first with a test drive kindly made available by my trusted dealer (Ottica Spoto), and now with mine. I can say that I find it really great, an evolution of the beloved Q2 that is worth having, not only for its 60 megapixels but also for its new sensor and also for the new 5" EVF; beautiful colors, excellent light, and shadow rendering, improved automatic white balance...
Some shots that my friends, clients, and me liked I put, in some magazines on Flipboard and they are having a lot of success. I think it is very important to exchange experiences with other Flipboard users, also through the excellent space on Mastodon (Flipboard.social), and also this beautiful magazine created by Janette Speyer here on Medium is very useful and productive in this regard.
