Welcome to the Flipside Governance Team Recap. Here you’ll get a full view of what we‘re up to each week, from penning proposals to publishing research to our all-important voting activity & rationales. Enjoy!

🚨 Team Highlights

  • Fig has earned New User of the Month in Euler, an incumbent lending protocol with rapidly growing TVL and users. This award commemorates new accounts which were most active upon joining. As we enter and evaluate new patterns and Governance ecosystems, it is reaffirming to see these awards and we hope to earn more of them; humble beginnings.
  • Raphael has published a monster piece with the help of Christian Nielsen. This report scrapes over 59,000 forum replies, revealing important discoursive trends. A few notable DAOs he looked at: MakerDAO, Uniswap, Optimism, and ENS. You can check out a Twitter thread summarizing the piece here, or read it yourself here! We’re excited to put these insights to work in a forum near you 💪
  • Lastly — happen to find yourself in Philly this weekend? Head on over to the Penn Blockchain Conference where Fig will be chatting with partners and investors about everything Governance. Agenda can be found here. See you at the conference!

📰 Across the Industry: Governance News of the Week

Optimism has been kind to us — and many. Announcing an airdrop on February 9th, Optimism rewarded users and token holders who have delegated with a most recent round of airdrops.

This one was unique as users we’re not required to claim — the OP showed up in your wallets. Delegate to us or maybe to someone else? Check your wallet(s), there may be a gift waiting for you!

Don’t miss out on the perks of delegating — we’re here to help: flipsidecrypto.eth

📊 Flipside Governance | Analysis of the Week

Optimism governance votes largely occur in batches, with multiple proposals going live for voting once a month. Last month, delegations picked up after several proposals went up for voting. Many users delegated their Optimism tokens for the first time. This month, Optimism users are delegating their tokens before proposals are going live. While first-time delegations outpace re-delegations, we are starting to see a significant increase in re-delegations as well.
