🚨 Team Highlights

Things Are Cooking in the Mile High City

Raph cooked up Kaiserschmarren, a pancake made in the honor of the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph, for Fig and a group of MakerDAO delegates, core unit members, and DAO aficionados.

Good times, full bellies, and deep convos had by all. Many more updates from our team’s expedition to ETHDenver coming next week!

Conversation with DLNews

Following the recent Wormhole Hack Recovery, lots of discussion across the industry has surrounded the distinction between Oasis & MakerDAO. DLNews spoke with Raphael in an article about the incident. “It could have bad repercussions for Maker if the narrative that Oasis and Maker are the same is maintained and seen as true,” Raph told DLN. 📰 Governance News of the Week

0x Governance Heading On-Chain

0x is forging ahead on its decentralization roadmap, introducing ZEIP-95, intending to move 0x protocol governance on-chain. According the post on 0x’s forum, “a community-owned treasury has been deployed and governed by community members via an on-chain process. The next step in the decentralization roadmap is to migrate the upgradeable process of the protocol to an on-chain process as well.” Exciting news for the OG protocol.

NFTs are coming to Osmosis

The highly anticipated WosmoNFT may soon arrive on Osmosis. Prop #447 (which looks likely to pass at the time of writing) would upload the base CW721 NFT contract to the Osmosis chain, enabling the minting of non-fungible tokens in compliance with the CW721 specification. The goal here is simply to allow people to issue NFTs on Osmosis as needed, and while Osmosis has no immediate plan to build an NFT marketplace, Prop #447 and the WosmoNFT would unlock a whole new social experience. Use Osmosis to unlock content in the form of badges, armor and other attributes to “upgrade” your NFT. Social gamification of the largest liquidity hub in the Cosmos! Are you in?

📊 Analysis of the Week

If you are an explorer within the Cosmos ecosystem, you have likely seen the new validator reviews of governance proposals in Keplr wallet. Maybe you are wondering how these rationales are published to their website or desire to start automating the publication of your own vote rationales.

The answer to this question is simple — these validators are filling out the transaction memo field with their rationales before submitting their vote on-chain. Within Keplr wallet, the memo field can easily be accessed and filled out on the “details” tab.

We have upgraded our Osmosis governance votes table freely available on the Flipside application to support the addition of the on-chain memo field. A simple example dashboard and query that shows how you can use this column is available here. However, what’s even cooler is that this logic is applicable to any blockchain that supports on-chain memos.

More to come from us on this topic, and if you don’t start submitting your vote rationales as memos for on-chain governance voting, you’re ngmi.
