Welcome to the Flipside Governance Team Recap. Here you’ll get a full view of what we‘re up to each week, from penning proposals to publishing research to our all-important voting activity & rationales. Enjoy!

🚨 Team Highlights

Flipside Off-Site in ATX!

Flipside has just returned from its team offsite in Austin, TX. Traveling worldwide, the Flipside team and its Governance muscle ascended to Austin for a four-day offsite.

Here we discussed plans for growth, connected in person with colleagues, and re-affirmed our commitment to helping DAOs and protocols grow. As a now 80-person team (and still growing), these trips together are a testament to our culture and cohesion.

A few of our favorite highlights from the off-site:

  • Armadillo racing and horse whispering at Lone Star Ranch
  • Grilling class with previous Chopped stars (Season 12 Episode 11)
  • Finale dinner at the Odd Duck
  • Late-night bull riding and karaoke

If we’re slow to respond today, please forgive us — many of the team are nursing a rough sunburn or an overfed belly. That said, we’re excited to get back to work with our partners and DAO communities!

Avi explains how Flipside can better serve our DAO partners through every stage of their life cycle.

Governance Contributor Position!

The Governance team is in search of its next superstar. Readers of this round-up may be a good fit — we applaud curiosity about governance. We’re looking for analytical skills merged with strong writing skills, and a commitment to authenticity.

If this sounds like you — and have a passion for DAOs and governance within Ethereum, give us a shout on Twitter or Discord. @francisgowen or @avimeyers on Twitter. are great places to start.

We are honored to be nominated in this round of Optimism and are grateful for badgeholders’ recognition of Flipside’s impact delivered to the OP ecosystem.

Feeling a bit more optimistic today 😎

📊 Analysis of the Week

Polygon vs. Solana Fees

Rebuking an article posted by CoinDesk, an impressive community analyst, Marqu, felt empowered to address questions about growing NFT markets:

Where is cheaper to transact with NFTs? Solana or Polygon?

He used Flipside Data to create an analysis comparing the two networks across key metrics: transactions executed, transaction fees (in USD), and average fee per transaction. See his dashboard for yourself here:

TLDR: Solana is cheaper.

Solana has accrued $544 in fees across 58,000 users in one month — versus, Polygon which has generated $12,242 from 73,000 users. Looking at the TXs per month — it seems Polygon has more transactions per user. Food for thought.
