We’ve been in the trenches the last few months working on new features and updates we have planned for this year and beyond. A few of them are ready for their close-ups, and we’re excited to share them with you today.

People Start-End Dates

One of our goals has always been to deliver the most accurate measure of your team’s capacity. With the introduction of people start and end dates — along with custom work hours and time off management — we believe we’ve finally achieved this.

Setting an optional start date for a user blocks out their time before they officially join the team. Setting an optional end date blocks out the time after they move on. This ensures your team’s available hours are always accurate, no matter when you add or remove members from the schedule.

It’s now available from the new People Status tab.

Daily Email Notifications

Let’s face it — if you make daily changes to your team’s schedule, a weekly email notification sent out to your members may not be enough.

Well, you’re in luck.

You can now set your team’s schedule to be automatically emailed to members each work day! We’ve also added the option to set which day of the week to send your weekly notification.

Set it, forget it, and have schedules delivered to your inbox before you arrive to work each day.

The New Float API V3 Private Beta

Another update we’re revealing this month is our all new API, now in Private Beta. While we’ll be discussing the API more in-depth in a future post, if you’re interested in taking it for a spin now, email us at support@float.com.

The API documentation has been completely revamped for V3 as well, and we’ve added new tutorials for those considering using our API for the first time.

For those not ready to jump in just yet, API V1 will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future.

Happy May from the team at Float!
