Just like the Athenians before us, Float Protocol believes in direct democracy: your say, your vote, your power.
That is why we are announcing a dedicated forum for you to discuss and propose topics to improve the Float Protocol.
Why governance matters
We made it a priority in our Democratic launch that we would include as many active participants in the Protocol as possible and allow them to be invested in its success.
Whilst it is awesome to have so many participants so early in our journey (1798 unique address have either bought or farmed BANK), we are especially pleased with the fervent discussion via telegram, discord and twitter. It was great to see the discourse around the snapshot vote as well (on expanding the whitelist) with over a great attendance of 4k BANK.
As such we want to involve the community more in the crucial decisions arising in Protocol moving forward.
Process moving forward
For important Protocol matters, anyone can create a new topic under the ‘Proposals’ category in https://forum.floatprotocol.com/.
Proposals that aren’t quite developed enough will be moved to a general discussion before being more fully considered.
Assuming there’s no disagreement with a proposal, we will proceed to organise a Snapshot vote.
FIP: Phase 2 plan
We have written the first forum topic to open discussion around Phase 2, specifically that we have 5 slots for pools with leading DeFi projects and we would like the community to vote as to how these slots will be filled.
Read more on the topic here.
