In a world tied up between emails and messaging apps, here’s the edge that your favorite team messaging tool brings: Group Mailing Lists.

So without further ado, here’s presenting to you, the Mailcast app.

What is Mailcast?

First of its kind, Mailcast is an app built on top of Flock that directly integrates mailing list functionality to provide the most complete and efficient tool for team communication.

Mailcast enables Flock users to easily send important memos or project update emails with just a click, without having to remember and type numerous email addresses.

How does it work?

Mailcast works with groups. For every group you make on Flock, you’re given a unique email id that you can use to reach out to every participant of the group, via email.

What does it mean to me?

Case in point 1:

Imagine wishing to dole out a formal communication to your team. A big news, or an email full of gratitude or just some stats. Basically anything where messaging just won’t make the cut and you have to revert to the good ‘ol, precious email.

So, instead of CC-ing the hundred odd members of your team, you simply

  1. Open the Flock group they’re all a part of. Eg. Design Group
  2. Click on the mail icon in the Chat Tab panel.
  3. Copy the auto-generated mail address of the group. Eg. designteam@flockgroups.co
  4. Paste it into your e-mail client.
  5. Get mailin’.

But, hold on. There’s more. ;)

Case in point 2:

Imagine being a part of a group with all your vendors, or your clients. They don’t have the same email domains as you do. But with Flock’s team feature, individuals with unique email id domains can now be housed under one roof.

With Mailcast, reach out to people outside your team and organisation, in a matter of few clicks.

How dynamic is Mailcast?

Pretty dynamic, we’d say.

Mailcast makes maintaining mailing lists within team messengers obsolete. Any changes to a Flock group are automatically reflected in the email list associated with the group. If users are added to or removed from a Flock group, Mailcast automatically updates the group’s mailing list.

The hub of all communication and collaboration, Flock, is always looking to add functionalities that make team communication even faster and more effective.
