The Flori End of Year Recap
A Year in Bloom - 2021 for Flori.
Flori means to bloom in Esperanto. Thus, fittingly, this year marks the sprouting of our founder-centric community and the debut of our seed-stage fund that backs founders who tap into financial innovation to solve meaningful, real-world problems at scale.

Here are some of the things that we’ve been up to so far.
75+ companies added to the community
With collaboration and the power of many at the heart of our mission to reengineer money and unlock prosperity for all — it is essential that we plant plenty of seeds that have the potential to flourish.
These seeds form more than a portfolio, but rather, a founder community. To harness the collective power of our founder community, Flori aims to grow our community by 200+ startups every year.
Since Flori’s debut in April, we’ve seeded 75+ companies. Here is an introduction to a few:
Crypto Hunt: Crypto Hunt is a platform where anyone can learn, ask questions, and share knowledge about crypto projects.
Ubeswap: Ubeswap is a decentralized exchange and automated market maker protocol for Celo assets.
Ponto: Ponto bridges decentralized currencies into local economies all over the world.
Moola: Moola is democratizing access to credit and yield.
Corsali: Corsali provides a decentralized data ownership platform that cuts across traditional data silos to create predictive value for people and organizations.
Helping our companies fundraise
To empower the founders in our community, Flori hosts its Demo Day Program (formerly “Flori Sprint”) that helps Flori founders focus on growing their businesses, culminating in a live Demo Day to help kick off each company’s fundraising.
Our first Demo Day was a roaring success! Now, Cycle 2 of the program is open, and it will conclude in a two-part Demo Day coming March 2022.
What’s next?
We achieve our mission when our founders achieve theirs, and for this reason, our community will continue to spark new opportunities for our founders to connect, learn, and grow — here’s a peek at what lies ahead.
Celo x Flori
Flori introduces a series of content and events to support founders as they onboard and navigate the Celo ecosystem.
To celebrate the initiative and kick off the new year, we will be hosting a live AMA with Celo product lead — Nitya Subramanian!
Founders Supporting Founders
We all need support, especially founders. Having a network of like-minded people who are facing similar challenges, or the support of a founder who has the experience of dealing with relatable encounters, is key to the success of each of our community members’ missions.
As part of the Founders Supporting Founders initiative, Flori will host a series of events where experienced founders share both the obstacles they faced as well as success stories.
First up, we’ll host Valora CEO, Jackie Bona, who will discuss the worldwide adoption of web3 and how Valora is addressing this adoption.
In addition to the events, Flori will introduce the “Buddy System”, a matching program for founders that allows them to support and be supported by matching piers.
