About Flori’s Demo Day
As we gear up for Flori’s second Demo Day on March 15th 2022, let’s take a look back at the first and highly successful Demo Day that was held in 2021.
The day hosted 16 high-growth companies from all over the globe, each building solutions on Celo were part of the Demo Day. The most innovative and industry-wide companies in the Web3 space.
The 2021 cohort of the Flori Demo Day was held when Flori was only 6 months old and raised $14 million in commitments and over 300 introductions were made.

Bitmama
‘Together, we can onboard the next billion users into the crypto ecosystem’ — Ruth Iselema.
Ruth is the founder and CEO of Bitmama and has been described as the Bitmama of the African blockchain space.
Bitmama is a crypto platform that is highly-secured and growing at an exponential rate. The platform allows users to buy, sell or trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Celo, and other cryptocurrencies at the best rates.
Since Demo Day, Bitmama has closed its pre-seed funding round to grow its operational presence, expand its team, and penetrate new markets across the continent. Additionally, Bitmama announced the launch of its Credits Programme
Moss
Moss is the world’s largest environmental platform and present’s the world’s first green digital asset MCO2 tokens. Moss Earth aims to unite companies and people with a common objective: to combat climate change.
Now, Moss is tokenizing carbon credits to fight climate change in the Amazon and since Demo Day announced a US$ 10 million series A round.
Cryptohunt
Exploring the Crypto world? Cryptohunt ranks, explains and reviews every crypto project. The platform provides reviews from real people for every crypto project, empowering users with the information and perspectives needed to make the best decisions.
The cryptohunt team recently aired their 100th podcast episode educating a global audience about Crypto after closing their pre-seed round with Coinbase Ventures and Flori Ventures.
Canza
Canza is the future of Web3.0 and African decentralised finance. An African Open Finance Portal enabling access to financial services through Local Money Market Agents.
Canza is a Neobank building the world’s largest non-institutional-based financial system and progressing towards offering access to DeFi services. Utilising decentralized finance (DeFi) along with a robust network of experienced local money market players to distribute financial and transaction-based services to everyone.
Since Demo Day, Canza has raised a total of $3.5M in funding.
Paysail
Paysail provides instant B2B invoicing and payments offering a range of key features such as a Paysail-generated wallet, receipts, searchable invoice IDs, customer-specific invoice history, and more.
Following Demo Day, PaySail has raised a total of $4M in funding.
Coco
Coco is a digital market or “marketplace” that allows you to purchase products from supermarkets, pharmacies and independent vendors in Venezuela. You can send your family or loved ones everything they need straight to their doorstep from anywhere in the world.
After 3 successful years in Venezuela, in January 2022, Coco officially launched their services in the Mexican market.
Honeycoin
Honeycoin helps creators get paid to do what they love, and users transfer value across the world. No matter where the audience/clients are, Honeycoin helps users to get paid for their talent and skills.
Recently, Honeycoin launched its peer-to-peer wallet in 15 countries, with over 200 mobile money and bank payout options.
Duniapay
Duniapay is a complete and economical banking experience built specifically for Africa’s booming digital generation. It lets you transfer and receive money with any phone number that has a registered mobile money account or you can use the receiver’s Duniapay username.
Post Demo Day, Dunia Payment revealed that it would soon launch its app for merchants. Designed to make everyday transactions simple, fast, and flexible for both merchants and their customers. Furthermore, last year, Duniapay was selected amongst seven other African startups for the inaugural Last Mile Money Accelerator.
Kotani Pay
Kotani Pay is a technology stack that allows seamless integration between blockchain protocols, dApps, and blockchain fintech companies with local payment channels providing them with a reliable on-ramp and off-ramp service to reach a wider customer base in Africa.
Since their Demo Day presentation, the Kotani Pay team has closed their seed round.
Outlet
Outlet is determined to redefine what it means to do banking. Dedicated to building a more open, transparent and fair banking system — Outlet connects users with a network of overcollateralized lending partners and matches them with the highest yield.
In its seed-round, Outlet Finance raised an undisclosed amount from an early-stage VC fund focused on FinTech & Blockchain, and has been reported as one of the best crypto banking solutions and best savings accounts for UK residents.
Pinnata (Dahlia Finance)
Pinnata is a leveraged yield farming protocol that offers yield farmers access to leverage when providing liquidity to a decentralized exchange on Celo.
Recently, the PINNATA team announced the introduction of the Pinnata leveraged yield farming protocol.
Ambisafe
Ambisafe is the solution to blockchain securities sales woes. It is a one-stop fundraising solution that offers services for both private and public sales.
Big news for Ambisafe has been the tokenization of SpaceX shares so that users can invest in secondary markets.
