It’s time for another release of Flow Home: Beta 17. The big new feature with this update is icon pack support. Icon packs let you customize and unify the look of your entire home screen. The right one combined with one of our themes changes the whole experience of the phone. Some great packs we suggest trying out are Belle, Moonshine, Numix, and Long Shadow. Let us know on Twitter if you use any other good ones. You’ll find the new icon pack setting in preferences.

With this release we also changed the way the widget drawer works. Tapping the profile icon now opens the widget drawer, and we keep it open until you tap again to close (or press the back button).

New widget drawer UI

This brings back pull-to-refresh for all users, and allows you to keep the widget drawer open while scrolling. There’s still a couple bugs to work out with specific widgets, but overall we’re liking it.

Some smaller items: Better support for opening posts when you don’t have the related app installed. Long press on images in detail view to share as image or URL. New UI for in-app notifications and for when we are reloading apps in the quick launcher. And of course, a lot of bug fixes.

Finally, please say hi to Pedro Teixeira who is now working on Flow with us! Some of his work is already in this release, and you’ll soon be seeing a bunch more cool stuff from him.

As always, let us know what you think, good or bad. If you want to test out nightly builds and give feedback directly, feel free to join our Alpha Community. Thanks!
